Margy warns against complacency
Manager Karl Marginson has warned his young side against complacency ahead of Saturday’s trip to the East Yorkshire coast to take on Bridlington Town, a team that the Reds beat 6-0 earlier this season and one that currently lie 14th in UniBond Division One North.
Rob Nugent faces a late fitness test to regain his place in the team on Saturday as Margy’s ’minors’ look to extend their winning streak to six consecutives games and keep the pressure on Curzon Ashton at the top of the table.
The league’s top scorer, Rory Patterson may also be recalled upfront but other than that United are likely to start with the same team that demolished Bamber Bridge 5-0 in the President’s Cup on Wednesday night. The Reds annihilated Bridlington in similar fashion with their biggest victory of the season at Gigg Lane back in August but Margy has told his players not to expect the same on Saturday.
He said: “Bridlington have brought in five of six new players since we beat them and they drew at Ossett, who are one of the best teams in the division, last week despite going down to nine men. All the players know that they have a job to do and they know I always expect 110% from them.”
