People United Day showed that football can bring fun and excitement for all fans.
10,000 A6 fliers were produced to publicise the event. Supplies were obtained by application to the office office@fc-utd.co.uk, or by downloading the website. A poster was also available to download from the website.
Press releases were sent to local papers, radio and television. A club official was interviewed on BBC Radio Manchester on the eve of the game, and another was interviewed at 1pm just before the game. Other websites displayed our press releases − North West Counties League, Bury Times, This is Lancashire, Wigan MBC.
The Kick it Out website had our People United Day report as its top news item.
